"UU" - Games mascot

The Universiade is an International multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a combination of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The 2011 host city is ShenZhen, China.
The Games mascot, called "UU" was released yesterday (the first cartoon face from the image below) . A strange cartoon smiling face completely broke the previous Universiade mascot animal model and traditional realist style. I also include 2 designs from its top 10 finalist.http://chenwangdesign.com/blog/images/universiade2011.jpg

"UU" is playful, sweet, mischievous, and energetic. In the texture, "UU" in the past used to see out of the rough texture, with a new sense of material, mixing with color gradient and shining lights, It delieves a happy and joy Feeling.

The little guy did not have any ideological, political, ethnic and religious weight, a significant change in modern graphic design from china.

Due to the geometric shapes, this design is suitable for the manufacture of toys, including graphic design, animation design, which is conducive to the promotion.

Nice handmade letter and image. I like this DVD cover design. It is from Time's top 10 list of 2007: It is listed #9:
#9. Berlin Alexanderplatz

Rainer Werner Fassbinder's 15½-hour epic — a sensation and a scandal when it premiered on German TV in 1980 — is finally on DVD, in a digital restoration much cleaner than any other version, including the original broadcast. In adapting Alfred Doblin's 1929 novel, the German wunderbrat created a fresco of Weimar Berliners ground down by their base appetites and that form of bad luck known as Fate. But the movie is no downer. Fassbinder was every bit as much entertainer as artist, and this, his masterpiece, is a tonic experience.
