Old Shool show and book

Old school is not old. The "Old School" theme celebrates the aesthetics of twentieth century education through an art exhibition and companion book, as well as curated objects. It is inspired by vintage flash cards, old desks, biology class, science fairs, crayons, card catalogs, textbooks, class photos, teachers, yearbooks, lunchboxes, gym class, maps, lockers, report cards, film strips, recess, spelling, chalk... and the list goes on! Package design 01: Martha Stewart

The other day, I was in Michael (the art and craft store) and was charmed by Martha Stewart's new product and package design. The talented package design team has won many design awards. In 2007, AIGA recognized Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Samsung as the recipients of its 2007 Corporate Leadership Awards. I didn't find the new packages online but still enjoyed some existing packages there, especially for the useage of patrtern and color.

Halloween graphic 02: Domo Show

The Target chain of American retail stores has hired NHK Japan's Domo character as its mascot for its Halloween costume campaign, and the chain's official website is hosting an exclusive stop-motion animated short and a "making-of" video. (In the linked page, select the "Domo Show" link on the top menu.) The English-dubbed short portrays a Halloween outing for Domo and its friends. The making-of video shows how Tsuneo Goda and his crew bring the character to life with a "painstaking" process that can only produce five seconds of footage per day.
